I really wanted Chanel Paradoxal, but couldn’t justify the high price tag because Revlon Perplex is a popular dupe.
Every time I ventured into a drugstore, I’d check the shelves of Revlon polishes. Nada! It was evading me on purpose!
Didn’t it know that I wanted to adopt it and bring it into my loving home where it could play with other friends? Guess not!
A while ago, I mentioned on Twitter how I was searching high and low for Revlon Perplex to no avail. Then the unexpected happened.
The clouds parted, the sun shone down, and Marta from ChitChat Nails flew in with her harp and halo. (Well, okay, I don’t know what she was wearing since we were on Twitter…but I’m convinced that she can fly. :P)
She mentioned this other polish, Colour Alike Weekendowy Szal that was also a dupe, but that wore better than the Revlon. And then…get this, she let me choose which one I wanted!
Since I’m not Polish, have never been to Poland, and don’t have any hook-ups in Poland, obviously I had to jump on Colour Alike! And boy did I jump on it like a kid jumps on their parents on Christmas morning, waking them up with squeals of joy!
Thank you so much, Marta, for sending me this bottle, a heartfelt card, another surprise, and for giving me this opportunity to try a new brand of lacquer! 😀

Colour Alike Weekendowy Szal Review
Colour
This is one of those colours that makes me feel ladylike when I wear it. There’s something really chic about it that I love. It’s a taupe that got fresh with some purple and made sparks fly!
Normally I prefer flashy, bright, and bold colours, but there’s something about this. It has multiple personalities depending on the light.
On me, sometimes it looks like smoked-out brown. In the sunlight, more of the purple comes through the taupe and you can see the secret purple shimmer being awoken like a friendly fairytale dragon. And when the sunlight doesn’t hit it directly, it looks like a taupe with a hint of purple. This is a very interesting colour!
Is This a Dupe of Chanel Paradoxal or Revlon Perplex?
I don’t own either the Chanel or the Revlon, but it’s supposed to be a dupe for both! 🙂 Yay!
Finish
While it’s a creme with subtle shimmer, depending on the light, it can look like a creme or a creme with shimmer. As Alice said, “Curiouser and curiouser!”
Application & Formula
Haha, I was so excited to wear this that I hastily applied it without being careful not to paint my cuticle. I don’t care because sometimes you just have to get caught up in the moment and go with the way you feel. And I was feeling like a million bucks! *She says as she turns her pockets inside out to reveal lint*
The formula of Colour Alike Weekendowy Szal was so smooth, creamy, and pigmented! Even on the first coat, it looked great! After slicking on a second (and final) coat and then putting a clear fast-dry top coat over it, the manicure looked so shiny and fall-like!
(I even cut my nails really short especially to wear this polish. I tend to oscillate between having long nails and then short nails. I like both lengths. And I felt like wearing Weekendowy Szal on short nails.)
I wore it for 4 days straight and there was absolutely no chipping or sign of tip wear.

Final Verdict: 9/10
Even though this polish wasn’t loud, it still made a big statement and left a positive impression on me. It was fun to wear a colour that looks so different in various lighting, to know that it’s a Chanel Paradoxal dupe, and to know that it’s a Polish brand.
I’m very grateful to Marta for being so generous and for also being very supporting of me and my blog. Please check out ChitChat Nails – she does amazing nail stamping and also shares gorgeous photos of the polishes she wears.
Do you have Chanel Paradoxal or Revlon Perplex? Have you ever tried any Polish polishes?
This looks just like my bottle of Perplex! I’m so glad you were able to get this, Marta is a sweetie! Perfect.

Hey Nicole!
I’m so thankful to have it in my collection! 🙂 Yes, Marta is a total sweetheart! She really made my day with that surprise.
Wow, that looks like such an amazing dupe! You’re very lucky to have such amazing friends! The best part? It looks great on you. 🙂
I’ve heard so much wonderful things about polish that can only be bought in Europe. Shipping fees are a bit overboard tho so there’s that. I might get my hands on some pretty Korean polish tho so that thought should keep me from feel too too envious. 😀
Hey Carmela!
Yes, I’m very grateful. Marta and I met through a shared obsession with polish, actually!
Niiiice! I’ve seen some swatches of Korean polish on the internet a few years ago that looked incredible. Can’t wait to hear what you think of them if you do decide to buy them.
This polish is SO pretty!

Hi imfeelingnail-venturous!
And it’s so chic! 🙂 Felt great wearing it.
Honestly I really don’t know where to start to reply to this post 🙂
There is a country song about a woman convinced her husband is an angle and has hidden wings and can fly 🙂 I wish I had those… because I’d fly and personally deliver this so bottle and maybe have a coffee with you!
In this case it was really true, I feel I’ve gained far more by this ‘small act of kindness’… really, your many thanks and this lovely post have made me happy till today 🙂
I’m pleased that you gave it a shot (even though it was a bit out of your regular comfort zone). This is my favourite HONESTLY favourite fall colour and the way you described it as chic and as having multiple personalities (this especially with my psychology background – two thumbs up) are exactly why I am enamoured by this shade.
I feel honoured that you even sacrificed the length of your nails to wear this darker shade 🙂
Truthfully I am glad to have sent this to you and I can’t tell you enough how much I gained by sharing this with you!
ps… if you EVER like any of the Barbra Colour Alike shade on my blog… let me know… My aunt – the awesome one- wants to send me a package here and there to feed my nail polish hunger and she is always asking if I want extra bottles of this brand (apparently they are quite affordable and I do get a LOT of wear out of them)… so don’t hesitate 🙂
IT LOOKS GORGEOUS ON YOU MY FRIEND!

Hey Marta!
I really value our new-found friendship. Your comments and generosity come across as very genuine, so it touches my heart. 🙂
It’s cool that you have a psychology background – so do I! I got my Honours B.A., but I didn’t continue and go to grad school. Instead I went right into the workforce, but in marketing not directly psychology.
Oh wow! I may just have to take you up on the Colour Alike polish. How could I resist? 😛 Hehe! Thank you very much for this wonderful opportunity!
