Time’s flying by so fast! I can’t believe that it’s going to be October soon. And Hallowe’en will be right around the corner. It’s my favourite holiday!

Today I’m reviewing the only Hallowe’en product I’ve bought this year so far – Bath & Body Works Brew Berry Anti-Bacterial Gentle Foaming Hand Soap.

Are you a fan of Hallowe’en? Will you be dressing up or having a party? Are you going trick-or-treating?

I still remember my trick-or-treating days. My best friend and I would hit up this one neighbourhood where it seemed like everyone gave out full-sized chocolate bars. To a kid, it was like hitting the candy jackpot!

And in that neighbourhood, people would realllllly get into the Hallowe’en spirit. There was one house that always had a whole display on their front lawn, including a tent where kids could go through and see things like ‘eyeballs’ in bowls and ‘intestines’ on plates. They’d also play spooky music and wear creepy get-ups like bloody surgeons or headless waiters!

I also remember one time, this guy who went to our school and who was a few years older than us, tried to steal our candy. He literally grabbed our bags, but I wasn’t having it. After all, we had spent literally 2 hours going door-to-door. I wasn’t going to let this punk just take away our hard work for being a jerk.

So I grabbed my bag and my friend’s bag back and yelled at him sternly to get his own and to pick on someone his own size. While that could’ve been a foolish move that ended with a black eye, surprisingly, he was taken off-guard by that and didn’t say anything or bother us. He wasn’t used to kids standing up to him, I suppose.

Fragrance

Out of all the Hallowe’en hand soaps that Bath & Body Works had out this year, this was the only one that really called out to me as I gave each a good snifferoo.

I love how you can smell the berries (blackberries and raspberries), but it’s not really tart. The slight bit of pear rounds it so you get a touch of sweetness that makes all the difference.

This is a delicious-smelling soap!

You smell the scent the most while you’re actually lathering up, but a faint scent lingers after you’ve rinsed and dried your hands. On me, the pear note seemed to linger on my hands instead of the berries.

This is light, so you really have to put it up to your nose when your hands are dry to smell this. So don’t worry about it interfering with a perfume you may be wearing.

Efficacy

Just like with all the Bath & Body Works hand soaps I’ve ever tried, this one is no different. It cuts the grease and leaves my hands feeling clean.

Packaging & Value

I like the pump dispenser because with a single pump, you get enough to cleanse your hands. (Although sometimes I use two pumps because I’m a big kid and like seeing the foam…)

That brings me to another point. Because it’s a foaming hand soap, you’ll go through this in a flash compared to the anti-bacterial gel hand soaps.

Seasonal

This is part of the Hallowe’en collection, so pick it up now if you’re interested in it. There may still be some when October 31st rolls around, but by then it’ll most likely be on clearance and therefore harder to find at your local store.

I have no idea if this will be a returning scent next year, so if you love it, stock up!

Animal-Friendliness

According to the label on the bottle, this product wasn’t tested on animals, so if you’re making conscious shopping choices, you can cleanse your hands with a clean conscience. 😉

This is a fun, yummy scent that I think would be a big hit with kids and those who like fruity fragrances. I recommend you give this one a shot, especially if you’re a fan of berry scents.
